OK, full disclosure, I love Emma Thompson in all things. However, I am not in the habit of shoehorning her/her films into blogs, just for the sake of it. No, I am referring to this:

"When you need me, but do not want me, then I must stay. When you want me, but no longer need me, then I have to go".
~ Nanny McPhee

When people need us, they don't want us

Not going to lie, this is a tricky position to be in, as a business - when, the people who are going to benefit the most from your service are also the people who are going to be feeling the most anxious.
Because of our focus on body confidence, it stands to reason that most women coming to us are not feeling comfortable, in their own skin. They're certainly not looking at themselves in the mirror and thinking 'Wow, someone should grab a camera, right now'.

Consequently, it's important for us to make it continually clear - nervous is normal, all bodies are good bodies, we understand your fears.
It can sometimes take women years of following us to get the confidence to get in touch - that's ok, we've got a lot of patience.

When people want us, they don't need us

Don't get me wrong, if someone is feeling comfortable, and confident in their bodies, they can celebrate that with us, and be excited and delighted with the results.
But that ultimate end result of an extreme confidence boost isn't going to happen for someone who is already pretty much 'there' with how they feel about their body.
They are however, going to have awesome images, to feel immensely proud of.

Unlike Nanny McPhee, we're not going to suddenly disappear.

We'll be here for any woman, whenever she feels ready.
We might try to help along the way (our body confidence boosting Facebook group for women exists to remind women to give themselves the consideration we so often lack), and we are always happy to answer questions (you can even pop in to see us at the studio for a coffee and a chat - there's no obligation to book in).

We look forward to meeting you, whenever you're ready.

Much love,
Anna
